VMware Workstation enables technical professionals to develop, test, demonstrate, and deploy software by running multiple Windows, Linux, and other x86-based operating systems simultaneously on the same PC. You can replicate server, desktop, and tablet environments in a virtual machine and assign multiple CPU cores, gigabytes of memory, and graphics memory to each virtual machine, whether the virtual machine is on a home PC or in a private corporate cloud.

Resolved Issues The following issues are resolved in VMware Workstation 11.1. A Linux guest operating system booted with EFI firmware would sometimes stop responding to the keyboard and mouse if there was mouse movement during a brief window of time while the operating system was booting. Outlook 2010 would crash occasionally when running in Unity mode.

You could not compress or defragment a persistent disk. The UI would sometimes crash when a user copied and pasted a file between two Windows guests.

Fixed rendering corruption in UI elements in Fedora 20 guests with 3D enabled. When creating a new virtual machine with SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 12, the simple installation path was not available.
