Description

Data can move between networks or stay in one place on storage devices. Desktop administrators have to manage both situations, and this course explores that, including information on IP settings, mobile networks, NTFS permissions, and OneDrive.

Once you’ve installed Windows 10/11, set up your interface, and configured your accounts, it’s time to connect. In this Windows 10/11 Configuring Connections and Storage course, you’ll be able to configure, enable, and troubleshoot network connections and provide secure data storage. First, you’ll learn how to set up IP address and name resolution, using graphical and command-line tools to verify and diagnose low-level connectivity. Next, you’ll see how to configure Wi-Fi connections, including tunneling and authentication protocols, and create different virtual private networks supported by Windows. Then you’ll learn how to enable Wi-Fi and VPN connections for users using tools like Windows Configuration Designer and Intune. Finally, you’ll explore how to manage local storage using Disk and Storage Management to create logical drives and NTFS permissions and conditions to protect those drives. After completing this course, you will have the skills and knowledge to configure Windows 10/11 network connections and storage resources so that your systems can reliably connect to the rest of your organization without increasing the risk of data breaches on local storage devices. This course aligns with the learning objectives of the new MD-100 exam for Associate Modern Desktop Administrator certification.
